Scarlet Temple – Imported Plants without Pot

Alternanthera Reineckii originates in South America.  This plant has red stems but its leaves can come in many different shades and colors.  Oftetimes, the top of the leaf may have olive-green to brown coloration while the bottom may be more in pink-red hues.  Iron fertilization may help to bring more intense red colors in this plant.  Alternanthera Reineckii is fairly easy to care for if some atttention is paid to its requirements.  The plant prefers strong lighting and it will benefit greatly from a good nutrient-rich substrate.  When planted in small groups, this plant will provide great focol point both in large and small aquariums.  The red coloration that this plant exhibits is guaranteed to get everybody’s attention.  Propagation is from cuttings.
