Lighting:

  • Egeria Najas can thrive in a wide range of lighting conditions, from low to high. It is particularly well-suited for aquariums with moderate to high lighting.

Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: Maintain a water temperature between 68-82°F (20-28°C).
  • pH: Keep the pH level in the range of 6.0-7.5.
  • Hardness: Adaptable to different water hardness levels.

Substrate and Attachment:

  • Egeria Najas can be planted in the substrate or left floating. It readily forms dense, bushy clusters, providing cover for fry and small fish.
  • If planted, ensure that the roots are buried in the substrate.

Fertilization:

  • Egeria Najas is not a heavy feeder and can absorb nutrients from the water column. Supplement with a balanced liquid fertilizer if needed.

CO2 Injection:

  • Egeria Najas is generally more suitable for smaller aquariums due to its finer growth, while Egeria Densa can grow larger and may be more suitable for larger tanks.
