These Otocinclus, which most people refer to as Oto’s, are used widely in the aquarium hobby as working fishes to help eat any unwanted algae that grows in your planted aquarium. These are small and peaceful fish and they stay out of other fishes way. Great bottom dwellers to have in your tank, and you may even find a couple sticking on to the side or top of your aquarium! Feeding them can be quite a challenge if you don’t have any plants in your aquarium, make sure you have algae wafers ready in that scenario!
These Otocinclus are the most common in the aquarium trade, and is affordable for many aquarists. Other Oto species may vary higher in price due to how much more rare they are.
