These fish are often bred in captivity, but you will be able to find them in holes, streams, and marshes in Africa. People often mistaken the name Killifish as aggressive or killer fish, but it derives from the Dutch word ditch, not kill. These fish are peaceful and easy to feed, making them great beginner aquarists. They prefer lots of vegetation so a planted tank would be recommended.
